BSc Nursing Course

B.Sc nursing course is a 4-year undergraduate program that provides technical knowledge and training to become a nurse.

The candidate can apply for the course right after class 12th if they have secured a minimum of 45-50% aggregate.

The admissions for the course may be through the entrance examination or on merit basis and the course includes theory and practical training.

BSc Nursing Eligibility

The eligibility for B.Sc nursing course may vary from one institute to another. All those who have cleared class 12th with Science stream from a recognized board/university are eligible to apply for BSc Nursing, however some colleges/ universities allow students belonging to any stream to take admission in the programme. The designated entrance exam, whether state or university level should be taken for admission to this nursing course.

Here we have provided some details to meet BSc nursing eligibility crietaria:

  • The minimum age for admission is 17 years as of 31st December of the year in which admission is desired and 35 years is the maximum age for eligibility. 
  • Candidates should have scored at least 45% aggregate marks in class 12 from a recognized board/university. 
  • It is mandatory to clear the English subject individually. 
  • The candidate should be medically fit.

B.Sc Nursing Post Basic Eligibility

  • It requires a 10+2 and a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery-GNM and registration from the State Nurses Registration Council.  
  • The candidate has to be medically fit. 
  • It requires the candidate to submit proof of training under the Indian  Nursing Council in any domain like Ophthalmic Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing etc.

B.Sc Nursing Abroad Eligibility

  • 15 years of study qualification. 
  • 70% aggregate in class 12. 
  • Proof of proficiency in the English language.

BSc Nursing Course Fee

The course fee for B.Sc Nursing course is variable in private and government colleges and institutions. The course fee for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in government colleges is approximately INR 40,000 per annum, and for private colleges it is around 1-2 LPA.

BSc Nursing Admission (2022)

B.Sc nursing admission process starts right after class 12th, the admission is either merit based or is based on the entrance examination results. A few government colleges offer the admission in the month of April and extend till June, students need to apply for admissions during these months and register themselves  through online/ offline modes.

B.Sc Nursing admissions 2022 take place in the month of July -August with the last application procedure starting from April onwards. For colleges/universities that conduct entrance examinations for admissions start the examinations May onwards.

The duration of B.Sc nursing programme pan India is 4 years which includes theoretical classes as well as practical training during the course duration.   • The average salary of a newly registered nurse is approximately INR 2.5 LPA.  
  • It can go up to an annual earning of around INR 8 LPA with experience.
