NTA specifies a few guidelines for the examination day to be strictly followed by all the candidates. These guidelines are as follows:
- Time: Strictly adhere to the time on the day of the examination. Reach the centre 45- minutes before the exam.
- Exam pattern & marking scheme – Thoroughly go through the pattern of the exam and the marking scheme.
- Dress code – Follow the dress code specified by the NTA
- Barred items – Make sure you go through the list of barred items and do not carry any of them with you.
- Documents – Carry all the required documents on the day of the examination. Do a thorough re-check to ensure you are carrying all the documents.
- Both males and females candidates must opt for light colours, half-sleeved tops/t-shirts
- The dress should not have fancy/big buttons, embroidery, etc.
- Shoes are not allowed, instead wear slippers/sandals
- Choose light colours, avoid long sleeves
- Light coloured pants or trousers should be worn
- Avoid jeans
- Sneakers/shoes/ boots are strictly not allowed instead wear slippers, or sandals with little to no heels

- Avoid long and fancy sleeves, opt for half sleeves

- Jewellery, accessories, and ornaments such as earrings, nose-pin, rings, necklaces, pendants, watches, belts, etc. are to be avoided on the whole
- Churidars/leggings must be avoided
