How to Choose the Right Course
- If you cleared NEET: MBBS, BDS, BAMS, or BHMS, based on your rank and interest.
- If you want allied and healthcare careers without NEET in 2026-27: B.MLS, B.AOTT, B.MRIT, and B.Optom do not require NEET this cycle. BPT also does not require NEET for 2026-27 admissions (NEET deferred to AY 2027-28 per NCAHP).
- If you want hands-on clinical work outside medicine: BPT, B.MRIT, B.AOTT, or B.Optom at universities with Virohan as their industry partner.
Why NCAHP Regulation Matters
The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) has notified competency-based curricula for allied and healthcare professions, implementable from AY 2026-27. For students entering in 2026-27, this matters because:
- Notified curricula, including Physiotherapy, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Science, and Operation Theatre Technology, follow a common national standard across universities.
- NCAHP registration is becoming mandatory for PG admission and is increasingly used by NABL-accredited employers in hiring.
- For B.MRIT, the NCAHP curriculum is still pending; institutions continue under university-designed curricula until standardisation rolls out. Radiation-safety oversight for B.MRIT is provided by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB).
Universities with Virohan as their industry partner are aligning early with NCAHP-notified curricula so graduates are positioned for nationwide mobility and PG eligibility.
